Finding my way back

The last year has been a challenge with my husband Gil unwell and then his fairly sudden death late in 2025. Many adjustments to be made and new things to learn. I have done little painting and recently had a few weeks on the Sunshine Coast and a few days in Sydney with an old school friend. It was great to get away and have a change of scene.

Mounting 2 paintings for the Clarence Art Prize and a new set of 7 to add to my rotation for five doctors practices has kept me very busy.

My entries for Clarence are #1038 Bowl of fruit 2 and #1082 From a creek bed. The first derived from my imagination, one of a series of 6, and the other inspired from sketches and paintings done on sight at the creek bed at Chauncy Vale.

As usual the second half of the year abounds in local exhibitions; I have 7 options so juggling the entries is quite a task.

My sets of paintings I rotate around the Doctors Clinics is in need of a boost. I am always adding one or two new ones but this time I have tried for a completely new set. I need to give the set a name so if there are any suggestions please email me. This is the set.

At Lady Franklin Gallery this month the exhibition theme is Monotone. I have two pieces on show. This one is framed in a white frame and another which I failed to photograph is unframed. The gallery on Lenah Valley Road open 11 am until 4 pm every Saturday and Sunday.

Wind and waves collide 5 & 6 are on the easel as well as some blank sheets ready to start. I am nearly finished a tidy up of the studio and then be back at work.

Distracted by all the rose pruning that needs doing too. I also plan to start recycling some of my old paintings and boards to free up some space.
