Where to now? Oh the possibilities!

For now I think I have exhausted my foray into compositional exercises discussed last month. For the first three I used a palette of Indian yellow, alizarin crimson and ultra marine blue, with a tiny touch of black. I feel these colours are more appealing. The first two #1092 and #1093 are 60x60 cm, the next #1094 is 50x50 cm.

For the second set, I used a palette of deep turquoise, magenta and lemon yellow.The first two #1097 and #1098, are 60x60 cm.

#1096 and #1091 are smaller 30x30cm. Perhaps too small.

Following on from my east coast duo, now framed and titled South of Swansea 1 and South of Swansea 2 ( ready for two exhibition coming up in August/September), I am working on two wave themed works. I am really pleased with the energy I have captured. I love the textures too.

Approaching completion and I might pursue this thread further.

Creating collage papers was put aside for a while but now a priority. I use acrylic inks and tissue or abaca paper. Here are 4 pieces that are still crumpled and need to be flattened. I have done another couple today. I am hoping to incorporate them into new paintings.

I will keep you posted on what eventuates.

The past two weeks I have been preparing to rotate my paintings on display in the 5 doctors practices. It’s a lot of work but a pleasant surprise every time when I see the work on display. I always get some good feedback and appreciate that.

Also, I have two large floral paintings nearing completion and need to make a decision on which one I will put in the Art Society of Tasmania Annual exhibition in September. Keep changing my mind!
