March madness

21 March 2023

Life has been very busy as has my exhibiting schedule. I changed my exhibtions at Sorell, Rosny, Huonville and City Doctors early in March and delivered two paintings to Cygnet for the Huon Art Exhibition Groups Annual Show. I didn’t sell either but enjoyed two beautiful drives in the country south of Hobart. I was very pleased to sell a large seascape painting at the Wooden Boat Festival at the Long Gallery. It was titled Early morning light and was based on the coast at Stumpys Bay in far NE Tasmania.

The paintings on show at Cygnet  were #0955 Coastal fringe (This photo is too dark) and #0919 Merging worlds

Sales on Bluethumb have been a little slow lately so I was pleased to sell a little  abstract floral last week.  Inspiring me to paint more of these.

I have finished four painting in the past month; two in my heart series and then two as yet unnamed using similar layering techniques but a palette of magenta, Paynes grey and blue with a touch of yellow. The first two are#0961 Music of my heartand #0962 Beating heart.

I am putting painting on hold now for a few weeks because of some very necessary surgery. So hoping to be back up to speed again soon.

There are a few upcoming exhibitions which I am preparing for; the Kingborough Art Prize in April and the Bellerive Community Art Centre exhibition at the Schoolhouse Gallery, Rosny in July. Then there’s the Art Society of Tasmania Annual exhibition at the Long Gallery in September. Busy! Busy!
